As the incumbent maintenance contractor for this large four star London hotel, Chameleon were awarded a £100K contract to install new fire alarm and detection equipment as part of the total refurbishment of four floors of the hotel.
The new analogue addressable equipment was installed to a high specification to form part of the existing building fire alarm system consisting of 8 networked Morley IAS multi loop control panels.
This project involved working within the overall contractual chain, with extensive liaison with the main electrical contractor, building contractor, project and design consultant and various other trades. The nature of the project required a multi phased installation, commissioning and handover process.
Having been the fire systems maintenance contractor for Community Housing Association (one of the largest housing associations in London) for many years, Chameleon were presented a real challenge when CHA acquired Patchwork Housing Association, another large London housing association.
Our brief was to survey, inspect and bring up to the required CHA standard the fire safety systems of all of the newly acquired premises (totalling some 200 buildings) in the shortest possibly time. This was carried out successfully and now the ongoing maintenance service for the combined housing association constitutes one of our largest ongoing contracts.
These three world renowned private sector hospitals, operated by Healthcare Corporation of America, have been long standing customers of Chameleon Systems. Recently we have been undertaking major upgrades of the installed fire alarm and detection systems within all of these premises, generally as part of phased upgrade or refurbishment programmes.
The main challenge has been to conduct operations within fully functional hospital premises, working to a variety of different programmes of work whilst maintaining a discreet and unobtrusive presence on site. This type of project is very familiar to Chameleon and regarded as one of our real strengths.
